Why should I get a home inspection when buying or selling?
Benjamin Franklin once said “Those who fail to plan are making a plan to fail.” Your house is one of your most valuable assets. It will be a place to sleep, a place to eat, a place to entertain, where you watch your children grow up; there will be so many memories associated with your home. To help utilize your home as much as possible you will need some information to make plans for the future. A home inspection will help supply this needed information and now that you are informed you can better plan for what lies ahead.
Will you need to start setting money aside to replace the roof? Does your current electrical system safely and adequately supply your appliances or will it need some improvements? What is the state of your heating system? How well insulated is your attic?
After your home has been inspected you can then sit and evaluate what upgrades you might like to make. What appliances you might need to replace soon. If you are going to set money aside for that new roof or have more insulation blown into the attic. Now that you have the information you have an opportunity to be more proactive in the condition of your home moving forward.
